Time Scope: 3 Weeks
Role: UX Researcher
Newcomers to sustainable living need to see clear, achievable eco-goals because of a lack of confidence in where to start or how to make meaningful changes. How might we create customizable action goals for users interested in sustainability in order to promote long-term eco-friendly habits.
Interviews – Conducted to explore users’ thoughts, challenges, and motivations around adopting sustainable habits, helping us uncover pain points and behavioral patterns.
Data Synthesis & Affinity Mapping – Organized insights from interviews and research by grouping common themes, allowing us to identify key user needs and trends.
How Might We (HMW) Questions – Used to reframe challenges as opportunities, guiding brainstorming sessions for potential solutions.
MoSCoW Matrix – Prioritized features by categorizing them into Must-have, Should-have, Could-have, and Won’t-have, ensuring a focused and achievable solution.
User Journey & User Flow – Mapped out the steps users take to integrate sustainable habits, helping refine app navigation and ensure a smooth user experience.

Different users have different sustainability goals, so offering personalized recommendations and flexible habit tracking improves user adoption and retention and using research methods like interviews, journey mapping, and competitor analysis helped deeply understand user pain points and shape a more effective solution.
